Mission Statement

To provide the opportunity to travel abroad and experience life and other cultures in an effort to assist young adults further know themselves.


 

Vision Statement

It is our belief that one must “Know Thyself”. This comes with the connection to an individual’s roots and place of ancestry.

It is our vision that the individuals that take this trip find a connection to their true selves through travel and learning about their respective history and cultures.


 

The Vision Revealed

 

During a summer trip to Ghana and surrounding cities, a small group of mentors thought that it would be an awesome experience for young people to have the chance to travel abroad and connect with their roots and other people in different parts of the world.

A plan to begin reaching out to philanthropists, professional athletes and business owners and holding fundraisers throughout the year was put in place to make this vision a reality for deserving youth to see other parts of the world. It is our hope to take 20 youth to Africa Summer 2015.  This trip will be towards the end of the summer and will conclude in time to begin the upcoming school term. This trip will on average cost $60K for 20 people. It is our hope that this trip will inspire and cultivate a culture of excellence.

 

There will be a process in order to choose who will receive a scholarship for the trip. The process will include but is not limited to an application, essay, academic responsibilities, interviews and community service. All those participating on the trip will also be doing community service while visiting the country selected.  

 

The average cost of the trip is nearly $2500. This includes air fare, shots, transportation and lodging. There is a breakdown of the cost of the trip in the sponsor’s packet. All contributions are tax deductible as SEHAH is a 501 © 3 organization.  All sponsors will receive tickets and will have standing VIP reservations for all fundraising events. Ticket amounts for each level of sponsorship will be included in sponsor’s packets.

 

We are confident that this will be a life changing opportunity for all that attend. Your help in this campaign is needed and appreciated. This is most definitely a chance to be a part of something that will improve the lives of our children and our community.
