ACADEMIC ACHIEVERS
Volunteer Teachers/Students and Professionals participate in assisting students with homework both during school hours and in a study hall setting. Study Hall locations vary but are all regulated by the same policy.

Study Hall Hours: Mon-Fri 4pm-9pm
Saturday 10am-2pm; 4pm-8pm
​
Locations: locations will vary depending on partnerships with local community centers and businesses, and availability of volunteers. One on one assistance is not provided through this program.

JOHARA'S JEWELS & GENTS
​
The Johara Jewels/Gents is a mentoring program for young adolescents between the ages of 11-18 designed to promote Spirituality, Self-Awareness, Scholarship, Sisterhood and Service to the community. The organization was established to be a support system to young ladies during the transition from adolescence to adulthood. Member ship is diverse and welcomes young ladies from all walks of life. Members from all socioeconomic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds are treated as sisters and make lifelong friendships while learning about themselves and others. Mentors from various professions including education, social work, medicine, law, entrepreneurs and more volunteer as roles models for our members and are committed to imparting values that will empower our Jewels to become well rounded members of their communities.

The JOHARA Initiative provides clothing for individuals or families that have experienced an unforeseen circumstance such as fire or storms, loss of income or families receiving any type of government assistance. We also offer assistance for those in need of clothing for job interviews. Individuals may be referred or may contact JOHARA Initiative when in need. Those receiving clothing will register with JOHARA Initiative and donations are given based on inventory and availability.
Proof of circumstance or assistance must be provided before receiving donations.

To assist organizations through a network of supporters and sponsors dedicated to community improvement . To be instrumental in the uplifting and advancement of our communities both local and abroad.

These programs have been designed to assist low income, disadvantaged individuals, families and organizations obtain the necessary resources needed to improve the overall quality of life. Funding for these programs is provided through fundraising, donations and private supporters. Your help is needed to continue assisting those in need. Your donations are tax deductible and will change the lives of many both locally and abroad.

21+ drop-in hours per week with

Support for youth around issues of sexual orientation and gender identity
Crisis intervention
The Jumpstart program is designed to assist those that have overcome socioeconomic barriers during their academic efforts. Many times attending school requires essential items and students are often in need of items such as laptops, dorm room items, clothing and school supplies. The Jumpstart program will provide these items for those that have served in their community, excelled in academics and overcome social barriers that may have otherwise affected their opportunities for success. Students will be nominated by school counselors, teachers, community members or may apply.
Bill Payment Assistance: One time assistance for those with disconnects/ eviction notices. Applicants must provide proof of circumstances (award letter, case number, late notice, etc.).
